Vendor Biography

Boonzhoor! Named Diligent Harvester, I am Metis. My ancestry traces to Saulteaux, Huron, Algonquin, Abenaki, and Mi’kmaq. Due to this diversity, my handmade creations incorporate a number of techniques, patterns, and color combinations. Besides beading for my own self-healing activities, these items are sold in order to help an even greater cause. My immediate community. For over 21 years, my husband and I have operated Free Stuff 4 Daily Needs, a humanitarian aid non-profit business. We assist over 2,000 local families with basic household items every year. From furniture, dishes, to even clothes. All donated from members of the community, stored and later dispersed to vulnerable families/individuals in our region. Your support today, not only allows you an opportunity to own and wear Metis artwork, it also allows me to continue to do a work demonstrated through my ancestors. My 4th Great Grandmother, Chipakijikokwe was known as Guardian Angel of the River to her community. A well respected medicine woman, midwife, and humanitarian who would regularly visit community members to ensure they were fed, clothed and in good health. Help me to continue this important work today in my community. https://freestuff4dailyneeds.com
