Honour & Truth
I am the turtle spirit. I hold and value the knowledge of my ancestors’ teachings since the beginning of time in and on my body. My back carries the symbols of the 13 moons. The space and time in each of these moon cycles around the sun embodies the truth. Many real events have happened over these cycles. Living a truthful life is honouring and practicing the human values daily that guide us on our life journeys. I have 28 markings that represent the 28 full moons and a woman’s body cycles to create life. These are the laws of life and time.
The turtle represents Truth in the Seven Grandfather Teachings. It carries all of the six teachings before it, wisdom, courage, humility, love, respect, and honesty. When one honours their daily life being mindful of these value teachings they are living a truthful life.

Note: The print is from my original 36″x40″ painting. Each print has a white border which is included in the size to allow for signing and the value names. The print is 8″x10″ & printed on Premium Matte Archival Paper. 210gms/12.2mil thickness. I print with Canon Lucia pigmented inks which are very high quality archival inks. The print has the value name digitally printed at the bottom center of the print and is signed and dated in pencil by the artist.
