Leather Rattle. Made from Bear rawhide. The handle is made from Arbutus that is hand picked in a local forest to find the cracking and right size. The handle is sanded, burned, stained and then rubbed with bees wax to make it look old. The leather is stained with antiquing, then multiple coatings of varathane to seal it. The art on the leather is my design and applied with a temporary tattoo. The feathers are Turkey, Crow with brass beads, copper cone and horse hair with deer leather. Inside the rattle are beach pebbles from Piper’s Lagoon in Nanaimo close to where I live. The rattle is 14″ long and the handle is 10″ long and about 3/4″ thick.
