Secrets in Time – Book 5: In Time Saga
When motorcycling Police Officer Alexander Michael Blackwell steps onto his old friend Laura Quinn’s porch during a night patrol, little does he know that he is knocking on destiny’s door. The young woman who answers his summon introduces herself as Charlie Quinn, Laura’s Métis granddaughter.
The deep sadness that replaces the bright smile and zest for life Alex had seen in the numerous photos adorning the old house unleashes his protective nature. From the moment they speak, it’s clear that Charlie dislikes police officers. What he does not realize is that a horrific automobile accident shattered her career as a snowboarding world champion, her life, and her faith in humankind. He makes it his mission to prove to her that good men still exist in the world.
Their path becomes littered with danger and secrets that hurl them in a spiralling descent into Hell. He is forced to choose between his career in Ottawa and the path he is destined to walk as the Wolf tribe’s next Head Chief. He cannot choose both, and Charlie cannot follow him until Laura recovers from the stroke that left her in a coma.
Alex is unaware that ancestral shamans have called upon the rainbow to reach into the 21st Century to prevent the destruction of their people’s beloved homeland in the Rocky Mountains. The knowledge he gains from an encounter in Mattawa shakes him to his core. He vows to protect his people from an evil not even his ancestors, Michael Ómahkapi’si Blackwell and Lee Ann Wandering Spirit Grayhawk, had envisioned two centuries earlier when they sealed their Secrets in Time.
Legacy in Time – Book 6: In Time Saga
Blackfoot Métis firefighter, Captain Rhònan Kiaayo-Okosis Wilkie, is accustomed to women judging him on his looks. What he does not expect, is for a paramedic to glance at the photo of him sitting on his motorcycle for the Ottawa Emergency Services’ fundraiser calendar, and describe him as “not bad, but too good to be true type, with plastic looking gym muscles – not the real kind that comes from real work, who is obviously wearing contact lenses because no one with such dark hair has ice blue eyes like that.”
He vows to make Leigh Redsky swallow the demeaning comments she had unleashed publicly and sees an old fashion Lunch Box Social as the perfect opportunity to exact his revenge. He does not expect his outrageous bid to backfire on him, nor to find himself facing an opponent worthy of his impetuous nature. Leigh is a strong Ojibwa woman raised among jocks. She is not looking for a protector, nor to replace the husband whose life she had failed to save. From that encounter, five families are caught in a whirlwind of events that binds their destinies inexorably. A leisure motorcycle ride takes Rhònan and Leigh to Mattawa – and Alicia Grayhawk, forcing him to disclose the extraordinary events that had shaken him to his very core two years earlier.
Just when Rhònan and Leigh expect their lives to settle into a smooth ride, Mother Earth’s destructive fury strikes half the country and the city they both serve selflessly. As they answer the call of duty, one of them is taken to death’s door, while their world collapses around them. They must draw upon their courage and deep spiritual beliefs to surmount overwhelming obstacles. The tempestuous journey leads the Blackwell and Wilkie clans to their roots, and the task of preserving Lee Ann and Ben Grayhawk’s Legacy in Time.
End of Time – Book 7: In Time Saga
In 1803, Ben Grayhawk told Michael Blackwell that his last-born son, Alexander Liam, would complete the circle of his life.
In 1817, when Lee Ann and Michael left their beloved son in the Blackwell’s ancestral castle on Scotland’s Highlands, they both accepted that his destiny lay there, not in their treasured valley in the Canadian Rocky Mountains.
In 1826, Alexander Liam and his wife, First Dawn, daughter of Káínaa Head Chief Sotenah and Marie Montour, settled on the Blackwell’s Highlands estate to start a family. Neither expected the disappearance of their beloved son in the twilight of the 19th Century.
In 2011, Caitlin Cameron, the Highlander Inn’s new owner, plans to restore the castle to its original splendour. As a young girl, she had spent magical summers within its walls, pretending to be Fiona Cameron, wife of Alexander Liam Blackwell the second. The filming of Neil MacDonell’s epic movie on the estate secures enough revenues for Caitlin to keep her castle. The very last thing she expects is the spectacular arrival of a tall red-haired, kilt-clad Scott-Blackfoot warrior with emerald eyes, claiming to be the rightful heir to the Blackwell estate, and refusing to believe that it is now an inn. The Highlander’s claymore nearly decapitates her, yet she raises a sword from the movie set against him.
“Take a breath before you pop a vein, Highland man! This is my estate and you’re trespassing.”
Just when everyone thinks that he will kill her, he laughs at the gall of this waif of a woman who shares his hair colour.
“Aye, she’s a Cameron for sure.” He pushes her sword aside with the tip of his. “Come, lassie, fetch me food. Tha an t-acras orm.”
“Fetch your own food, laddie. You can starve for all I care.”
Despite her bravado, Caitlin fears that her days at the Highlander Inn are numbered. Regardless of her determination to prove Liam an impostor, she realizes that he will not be dislodged from her estate, or from her heart. She wages battle against the young Lord, who vows that his ancestors’ legacy will remain in Blackwell hands – eternally. The biggest battle of her life, however, takes he to the Siksika Valley in Canada’s Rocky Mountains, during the filming of Rainbows in Time, another historical movie, among people who welcome her warmly, and support her when her world collapses around her.
